Soul shield are sets of 8 fragments in Blade and Soul, they are the source of attributes to a character. It also provides the additional attributes when the players equipping multiple fragment of a same set.They are ranged in quality from normal to paragon, just like items. You must have experience the same thing, sometimes you had classes going ET 128, BSH 34567 while others going ET 12468, BSH 357. Some people even went BSH 12345678 for the pierce on BW. In fact, every class uses the same soul shields. Every class wants the highest amount of crit with the highest hp values because more and more bosses are becoming dps races due to enrage timers. The only way they differ is secondary stats where some classes might want say evasion over defense (sin) or vice versa (bd for their tab). With that in mind, secondary stats don't matter too much. It's more important to have pieces with the best crit. Then you worry about the hp values. Best set for crit is Mushin 2, N.Lab 1 - 4 - 6 - 8, BSH 3 - 5 - 7, with max Crit fuses probably through Artisanal Crafted Moonwater primers. If you have decent Bloodshade pieces in 3 - 5 - 7, then you can fill in with Endless Tower for 1 - 2 - 4 - 6 - 8 until you can get the replacement pieces from NLab and Mushin himself.
